Ultrasonic water depth measurement system transducer adopts the optimal parameters determined by parameter debugging (measurement time, sampling interval time, range, data filtering method), ultrasonic distance measuring transducer uses 32 transducers to measure six different thickness glass combinations, and calculates the relative error of the measurement. It is the measurement system accuracy test.δ=|α-A│/A×100%. Whereδ is the relative error;α is the measurement value; A is the true value. Because slope flow ripple may change the ultrasonic echo direction, ultrasonic distance measuring transducer weaken the echo signal, or even detect the return acoustic wave signal, and the signals between different sensors may affect each other, the sensor measurement values are normally distributed and may have abnormal values.


 In order to improve the measurement accuracy, ultrasonic distance sensor manually remove the apparent error value, and take the average value in the interval (μ is the average value and σ is the standard deviation) as the measurement result, and calculating the coefficient of variation. Due to the influence of slope and flow on the flow pattern on the slope, 5 slopes (5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, 25°) and 5 flows (0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2L) are designed. A total of 25 combinations were used to calculate the coefficient of variation of the 32 sensor measurements for each combination to evaluate the stability of the ultrasonic sensor when is measuring the distance from the surface of the slope flow.


For the stability test of flow measurement, the measurement of underwater ultrasonic distance sensor requires one measurement of the bottom of the tank and one measurement of the slope flow. Therefore, the improvement of the water depth measurement accuracy depends on the stability of the two measurements, and the slope flow is in the flow. During the process, the surface is not static and will affect the depth measurement results to a certain extent. Therefore, the stability of the ultrasonic flow sensor on the slope surface flow affects the accuracy of the water depth measurement transducer. The data analysis shows that the average of the coefficient of variation of the 32 ultrasonic sensors measured at the bottom of the groove is between 0.027% and 0.032% at different slopes.


 The average value of the coefficient of variation of the results of downslope surface flow measurements for 32 ultrasonic sensors on different gradients and flow combinations.we can see that for all gradients and flow combinations, that means value of the coefficient of variation of the ultrasonic depth sensor varies from 0.06% to 0.096%, which is about 2 to 3 times.the average value of the coefficient of variation at the time of measuring the bottom of the stationary tank. Therefore, the depth measurement has high accuracy.It mainly depends on the stability of the slope flow measurement results. The average value of the coefficient of variation of the sensor measurement is less than 0.1%, which can meet the research needs.
