2. Precautions for installation of ultrasonic gas flow transducer

1. When installing an ultrasonic gas flow meter, avoid the following locations:

(1) Temperature: where the ambient temperature exceeds -25℃~ +55℃ (beyond this range, a special statement must be made when ordering), and the relative humidity exceeds 90%.

(2) Vibration: There are strong vibration sources and places that may cause the signal processing unit and ultrasonic transducer to resonate.

(3) Electrical noise: places with strong electromagnetic or electronic interference nearby.

2. In the case of unidirectional flow, the length of the front straight pipe section of the

ultrasonic gas flow sensor shall be at least 10 times the nominal diameter (DN), and the length of the rear straight pipe section shall be at least 5 times the nominal diameter (DN). In the case of bidirectional flow, the length of the front and back straight pipe sections of the ultrasonic flowmeter requires at least 10 times the nominal diameter (DN).

3. The inner diameter of the matching straight pipe section should be within 1% of the inner diameter of the meter body of the flow meter. The connecting flanges on both sides should be perpendicular to the central axis of the straight pipe section. When installing, pay attention to maintaining the coaxiality with the meter body of the flow meter. Note: Flange gaskets with locating rings should be used to prevent them from protruding into the pipeline and causing interference to the velocity profile.

4. The meter body of the flow meter should be installed horizontally as much as possible. Vertical installation is not recommended to prevent water from accumulating in the cavity of the transducer mounting hole, which will affect the transmission of ultrasonic waves (if the temperament is dry, it will not affect) and reduce the measurement accuracy.

5. When the gas medium is dirty, a gas filter with good effect can be installed upstream of the

ultrasonic transducer gas flow measurement in a position that does not affect the flow field of the gas to be measured.

6. It is strictly forbidden to weld pipe flanges with flowmeters. It is recommended to make short-section auxiliary welded pipe flanges to ensure the overall force of the meter. Clean the inside of the pipeline before installing the flowmeter.

7. In order to facilitate maintenance and do not affect normal use, it is recommended to set a bypass.

8. When the flowmeter is installed outdoors, it is recommended to add a protective cover to prevent rainwater and hot sun from affecting the service life of the flowmeter.

9. The flowmeter must be grounded reliably, but it must not be shared with the ground wire of the strong current system.
