When the voltage is applied to a piezoelectric ceramic, the piezoelectric ceramic sheet will mechanically deform with changes in the voltage and frequency. On the other hand, when a piezoelectric ceramic is vibrated, a charge is generated. Utilizing this principle, when an electric signal is applied to a vibrator composed of two piezoelectric ceramics or a piezoelectric ceramic and a metal piece, so-called piezoelectric bimorph elements, ultrasonic waves are emitted due to bending vibration. In contrast, when ultrasonic vibration is applied to a bimorph element, an electrical signal is generated. Based on the above effects, piezoelectric ceramic cylinder can be used as ultrasonic sensors.

The material of the piezoelectric ceramic sheet has good piezoelectricity, high mechanical strength, high coercive field, and low high-field dielectric loss. It is mainly used for ultrasonic cleaning, powerful ultrasonic drilling, ultrasonic welding, scaler probes, ultrasonic beauty instrument probes, ultrasonic scalpel probes, and cardiovascular therapy instrument probes.


The piezoelectric ceramic material has a high electromechanical coupling coefficient, a suitable dielectric constant, and a high sensitivity. It is mainly used for high-sensitivity transducers, flowmeter transducers, level gauge transducers, accelerometer transducers, ultrasonic detection transducers, etc. The piezoelectric ceramic material is between Pzt8 material piezoelectric plates and PZT5, taking into account the characteristics of both, has high sensitivity and low dielectric loss, and has a small transmit power and can be used as a receiving and transmitting dual-use transducer at the same time. It is suitable to choose this material. At present, the ultrasonic atomization transducers produced by using this piezoelectric ceramic material have been put into mass production.
