The study of high-intensity focused ultrasound technology has been make effect since the 1940s, but limited by engineering technology at the time, the technology has not been rapidly developed. With the rapid development of related technologies such as computers, technology has attracted great attention from many engineering and technical personnel and medical workers. In recent years, the pace of research on this technology has obviously accelerated. Many units in China have launched. It is the research and development of the equipment and clinical application research, which achieved remarkable results, its clinical research results have attracted the attention and praise of international peers. 


The industry standard “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Tumor Therapy System” proposed by the State Food and Drug Administration has been approved for the definition of a ultrasonic hifu piezo transducer tumor treatment system by unit transducer or multi-element .The focused ultrasound sound source formed by the array of sounds, after passing through the sound transmitting medium, the  intensity of ultrasound is acceptable to the normal tissue of the human body is transmitted through the surface of the patient, and the energy is concentrated on the target tissue to cause coagulative necrosis inactivated treatment system. This paper makes a preliminary discussion on some issues in the development of high focus piezo technology.


Focused ultrasound transducers are at the heart of technical engineering,which are the most critical technologies. Different transducer schemes will affect the transducer's focusing effect and electroacoustic conversion efficiency, it is resulting in different therapeutic effects. The current common focusing methods are acoustic lens focusing, mirror focusing, multi-element focusing, and “mosaic” multi-concave spherical focusing. It is focusing on the acoustic lens: Since the lens itself absorbs the ultrasonic wave, the high temperature is easy to deform the lens. The electroacoustic efficiency conversion of this high focusing piezo pickups is low. To meet the requirements of HIF U technology, it is necessary to provide a large electric power.


 If the power is too large, the aperture of the unit transducer is too large to be broken, which affects the yield and reliability. Mirror focusing has small changes in the position of the reflecting surface will cause a significant change in the focus position t, and the mechanical structure is complicated and the volume is relatively large. Large engineering is more difficult; "mosaic" concave has spherical focusing surface : This focusing transducer is usually made of tens or even hundreds of flat ceramic sheets, which is easy to implement, but large in size, low in electroacoustic conversion efficiency, and The performance consistency and phase consistency of the primitives are very high and the focus sound field cannot be controlled. Multi-element self-focusing transducers usually consist of no more than 10 pieces transducers.
