Ultrasonic flaw detection can detect defects on the surface of the material, but also to detect defects within the several meters transducer depth, more sensitive than X-ray detection, short cycle, harmless to the human body and so on. The disadvantage is that the surface of the workpiece is smooth, experienced test personnel identify the type of defects, the defect is not intuitive. So ultrasonic testing is suitable for large parts of the detection of the thickness gauge. Scientists have proposed an ultrasonic non-destructive testing method for high-pressure seamless steel piezo tube which can detect automatic continuous detection for straight pipe and store inspection process and standard of all kinds of steel pipe and realize the automatic ultrasonic non-destructive testing of seamless steel pipe. There is also a design of an ultrasonic Lamb wave non-destructive testing system, the metal sheet nondestructive testing to obtain a higher sensitivity. Scientists have studied the rapid calculation technique of nondestructive testing, which provides a reference for the reliability evaluation method and influencing factors of nondestructive testing technology.
