The starting-up characteristics of the ultrasonic motor can be seen in the process of the ultrasonic motor that undergoes 125Khz piezoceramic rings from the standstill to the steady-state operation phase. The turn-off characteristic of the TRUM-60 ultrasonic motor is described by starting the vibration state of the stator at the moment of shut-off drive and slowly attenuates the vibration until it stops completely, eventually 30khz piezoelectric transducer is causing the rotor to decelerate to zero and stop moving. In the phase between startup and shutdown, we call the motor steady-state operation phase.

It can be seen that when the ultrasonic motor drive power is turned on and off, the speed of the rotor will fluctuate greatly, and after a few milliseconds it will reach stable operation. Therefore, the stability of the two phases of starting and shutting off affects the positioning accuracy of the ultrasonic motor. 


The main factor is generally described by the start and stop response time. It can be seen that after the ultrasonic motor is energized, it is the initial phase of the piezo ceramics rings vibration sensor, the stator begins to vibrate to the rotor rotation output, there is a delay,That is, it is mechanical lag, after the stator enters the steady-state vibration, the rotor can run from stationary to have a stable speed within a few milliseconds, at which point the ultrasonic motor will quickly enter the rated working state. It shows that during the start-up phase of the ultrasonic motor, the stator of piezo ceramic hemisphere begins to vibrate, and the energy accumulation reaches the steady-state vibration. Damping is the accumulation of energy in the system. 


The greater is the damping, the longer it takes to reach the steady-state vibration. piezoceramic sphere piezoelectric oscilator shows that the greater the damping, the faster of the stator vibration decays, and the shorter time is to stop the vibration. Therefore, the greater is damping, due to the friction force ,the ultrasonic motor makes the ultrasonic electric organs cut off, the rotor speed decays zero less time, it will quickly lock in its zero-speed position, brake faster. At the same time, piezo ceramic sphere sensor shows that the ultrasonic motor has the characteristics of self-locking and fast response. When the rotor is placed on the stator, it is equivalent to the pressure on the stator and the restraint is increased. At this time, the boundary conditions will change the amplitude of the stator surface that becomes smaller.
