Ultrasonic transducer sensors generate heat when it is used, which is mainly caused by three reasons. One is that the workpiece to be welded will heat up or the material treated by ultrasonic waves will heat up, or the mold (tool head) and horn will heat up after working for a long time, and the heat will be transferred to the ultrasonic transducer.

 

Secondly i,it is the power loss of the transducer itself. Since the energy conversion efficiency cannot be 100%, the lost energy must be converted into heat. The temperature rise will lead to changes in the parameters of the ultrasonic range transducer, gradually shifting the matching state, and more seriously, the temperature rise will lead to the deterioration of the performance of the piezoelectric ceramic transducer. This in turn drives the ultrasonic transducer to work worse and heat up faster, it is a vicious cycle. Therefore, it is necessary to provide good cooling conditions for the ultrasonic transducer, usually air cooling at room temperature; if it is necessary, cold air cooling can also be used. Under normal circumstances, the temperature rise caused by these two points is also normal, and under normal cooling conditions, there will be no major problems.

 

Thirdly ,the transducer and the driving power supply cannot be matched to the working state during use, which causes a large amount of heat, which is uncontrollable and will have serious consequences. At the same time, when the temperature is high, the mechanical strength of aluminum will drop sharply. Under the action of high power, cracking is inevitable. It is a pity that it is a good thing, but it is damaged due to improper use.

 

The temperature of the piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer must not exceed 85°C at any time. A one-time irreversible temperature-sensing patch can be attached to the transducer. As long as the temperature of ultrasonic transducer exceeds 85 ℃, the temperature-sensing patch will change color. This reminds you that there are still some problems in the use of the transducer, and you should search it comprehensively. The cause of the problem is listed below. If the problem is not improved in time, it is very likely to cause damage to the ultrasonic machine. Always measuring the temperature of the transducer and check the color of the temperature-sensing patch in time.
