Ultrasonic Sensors - Transducers that work on principles similar to sonar or radar and estimate target properties by interpretation are called ultrasonic sensors or transceivers. There are different types of sensors, which can be divided into active and passive ultrasonic transducer sensors, which can be distinguished according to the working method of the sensor.

The high-frequency sound waves generated by the active ultrasonic distance sensors are received by the ultrasonic transducer and used to evaluate the echo. Therefore, the time interval it takes to send and receive echoes is used to determine the distance to the object. However, passive ultrasonic sensors are only used to detect ultrasonic noise under certain conditions.

The ultrasonic module shown in the figure above is composed of ultrasonic transmitter, receiver and control circuit. The practical application of ultrasonic range sensor with circuit can be as ultrasonic distance sensor circuit.

When power is supplied to the circuit, the ultrasonic sensor generates and emits ultrasonic waves, which are then reflected by obstacles or objects in front of it. The receiver then receives it, and the total time spent sending and receiving is used to calculate the distance between the object and the sensor. Microcontrollers are used to process and control the entire operation using programming techniques. An LCD display is connected to the circuit and is used to display the distance (usually in centimeters).

Practical application of ultrasonic sensors——

An ultrasonic sensor mould with a circuit can be used to measure the distance of an object. This method is suitable for inaccessible areas such as high temperature and high pressure areas that cannot be measured by conventional methods. The distance measurement engineering circuit kit based on the ultrasonic sensor is shown in the figure above.

The block diagram of the ultrasonic sensor ranging engineering circuit is shown in the figure below. It consists of different modules such as power module, LCD display, ultrasonic module, object that needs to measure distance and 8051 microcontroller.

The ultrasonic transducer used in this project consists of an ultrasonic transmitter and receiver. Waves from the ultrasonic transmitter are reflected from the object back to the ultrasonic receiver. Use the speed of sound to calculate the time it takes to send and receive these waves.
