frequency of piezo ceramic cylinder for underwater communication

Product Description

1.Inquiry of product :

Hello,
we are interested in a piezo ceramic element for our existing product line as well as for future projects.

Per the web link below we make a subsea device which employs through-water acoustic communications.
Spread Spectrum from 12KHz to 30KHz, approx 2 Watts energy.

We currently use a 'Tube' section dimensions OD 61.6mm, ID 56.0mm, Length 10mm. Material 'PZ27'

We are able to have some degree of flexibility mechanically and electronically, so we wonder if you have
something which might fit close enough for our purpose ?

2.Country:    Australia

2.Question and Answer :

A:

Thanks for your interesting on our products , this is Billy assist you.

According your require size  OD 61.6mm, ID 56.0mm, Length 10mm.we calculate the frequency around 15Khz.

About the material PZ-27 can you give us more tech information(such capacitance, tg delta and more) each company the material number is different.

for underwater project we have our material here i enclosed our material spec for your reference ,please confirm if our material can work for you.

once you give us PZ-27 material spec, we also can suggest the material for you.

B:

Hello Billy,

thanks you so much for your reply.

Yes I think 15KHz is correct.

B:

Material:

Thanks, actually I wasn't sure if "PZ-27" was a standard term for all companies or not.

To be frank with you, we are not experts in this field, we simply use a particular element from another supplier, because we know it works well in our system.

Even so, I may be able to use the data sheet you sent to help define things better,

however would you mind first giving me the translations of the column headers ?

I will also try to find more on the specifications of the existing element.

We are very open to any suggestions you may have also.

Just out of interest, we have always wondered if we were to make the tube 'longer',  for instance increase the 10mm to say, 15mm,

that might produce a greater acoustic output as well as increase the receive sensitivity ?   Is that is so, how would it affect the 15KHz ?

A

After confirm with our engineers, the length increase to 15mm is can be accept, the frequency don't have affect.
the receive sensitivity may be better ,you can get the result after test in your project.

B:

In the mean time,  I'm actually anticipating that the tests will most likely go very well,  so can I ask,  if we placed an order

initially for just 100 units, how long would the lead time be ?

A:

For 100 units lead time will need  30-40 days, we suggest place order in time.

3.Feedback :

Hi Billy,

thanks,  the shipment arrived on Friday.

(very well packed too)

I'm hoping we can start tests later this month

and yes I'll share the results with you.

We've just completed constructing the testing equipment,we need to perform the tests, but are still hampered by bad weather and boat problems.I'm hoping we can get out on the water this week, fingers crossed.
