SAW Type Transducers Application:
Piezoceramic transducers are used to generate ultrasonic waves which propagate on the surface of the glass plate of a touch panel. When the panel is touched, a portion of the wave is absorbed. This change in the ultrasonic waves is used to determine the position of the touch event. This type of touch panel is known as SAW (surface acoustic wave) type touch panel. piezoceramic plates are developed to be used in SAW type touch panel of various sizes. Custom-made specifications or designs are available.
For A SAW type touch panel, Piezoelectric transmitters on the sensor generate acoustic waves on the surface of the glass substrate on alternating Xaxis and Yaxis patterns.The acoustic waves are reflected by a pattern of edge ridges directing the energy to piezoelectric receivers.A touch to the surface of the sensor causes attenuation to a portion of the wave corresponding to touch position.Touch location is based on the time delay from the transmitted pulse to the center of the attenuation area of the wave.
